Simple garments such as shirts and unlined or half-lined jackets can be made in Chiang Mai in around 24 to 48 hours. A fully canvassed suit needs longer, because canvas construction requires a fitting partway through to be worth doing. The single biggest factor is your departure date, so give it at the first conversation.
Every express order trades away the same thing: fittings.
A fitting is the point where a garment stops being a set of measurements and starts being your garment. It is where a sleeve pitch gets corrected because your arms hang slightly forward, or a collar gets adjusted because it stands away at the back. Remove the fitting and you are relying entirely on the measurements being right first time.
Sometimes that is a perfectly reasonable trade. A shirt is a simpler object with fewer places to go wrong. Sometimes it is not, and a fully canvassed jacket delivered without a fitting is the clearest example.
Shirts. The most reliable fast garment. Little construction, few variables.
Unlined or half-lined jackets. Achievable at speed, because the construction that takes time is exactly the construction being left out.
Trousers. Generally quick.
Fully canvassed suits. These need time, and the reason is structural rather than commercial. A floating canvas is shaped to your chest during construction. Compress the schedule and there is no point at which that shaping can happen, so you end up paying for canvas construction and receiving most of its disadvantages with few of its benefits.
The construction guide explains why.
Give your departure date first. Before the cloth, before the styling. It determines what is achievable and everything else follows from it.
Come in on arrival, not departure. The most common regret we see is someone who walked past the shop for four days and came in on day five. The same order placed on day one would have had two fittings.
Take the recommendation on garment type. If the timeline suits a half-lined jacket, a half-lined jacket made properly will serve you better than a canvassed one made in a panic.
Stay reachable. A quick WhatsApp reply confirming a fitting slot can save half a day.
We will say so. There is no benefit to anyone in shipping a garment that does not fit, especially to someone who will be on another continent when they discover it.
In that case there are two options. Order a simpler garment that the timeline genuinely supports. Or order what you actually want, be measured and fitted while you are here, and have it shipped internationally once it is finished properly.

How a bespoke garment is made: pattern drafting, cutting, canvas construction, hand-padded lapels, basted fittings and finishing.
A simple, lightly constructed suit can be produced in around 24 hours, and shirts routinely can. A fully canvassed suit in that window is not realistic, because canvas construction depends on a fitting partway through. If someone promises a full-canvas suit overnight, they are either fusing it or skipping the fitting.
Shirts are the fastest garment in the shop and are usually the most comfortable thing to commit to on a short timeline.
It removes fittings, and fittings are where fit problems get caught. A rushed garment can still be good, but the margin for correction is smaller. That is a real trade-off and worth understanding before you commit.
Come in on your first day rather than your last, and be led by what the timeline suits rather than by what you originally pictured. Two days is workable for shirts and simpler jackets.
